Great catch , yeah I have to agree I think that the ducks are a little bit of a distraction, have you thought about cloning them out ?

Looks like a great place to shoot, yeah this one looks a little too tight to me as well. I think that if you would have shoot this in the 18 to 20 mm range would have been a better choice for this place. Thanks for sharing

i feel light , background & compossition in this picture is good . but main subject of this image ( mantis) is not prominantly focused. dark foreground in the bottom is also disturbing

Hi John,
I like the pose you have put your model in she definitely looks like she is coming out of the box. I would give more stars if the dark voids to the left did not lead me away from her or perhaps that is what you intended...

This is amazing. The colors are phenomenal and so surreal. How fantastic to have seen this. The final image you have created is artfully done. I am sure you did some Photoshop on this, just what I don't know, but the effect is fabulous!

Beautiful place, wonderful colors and you have made the water look great soft yet with "motion", the focus is also very good..but somehow it seems "cramped" if you have room somewhere..at the top..foreground..either side I think I would try to open this scene up a bit more..beautiful picture..thanks..jdtx

Ian, I really like the way you have captured the glow through the different colored glass and the various ways that the grating pattern changes when viewed through the different bottles.
It is for this reason that the flare in the upper left side of the image is distracting in that it washes out the grating both in the window and the bottles on the left.
Still you have found a very creative image here that for the hunt.

These are cute little critters. You did a great job of capturing every detail in its body and feathers. The eyes are clear and bright and wonderfully sharp. Its nicely composed with his talons grabbing onto the perfectly focused piece of wood. I like all of the texture. Good one!

I like the composition, the pose and the use of the log in the BG. The light is a bit flat, as already pointed out. Perhaps use a reflector or a off camera flash next time. I think I would have cloned out the dark splodge on the beach (seaweed) as I find my eye keep being pulled over to it. All the best.

Almost a 3TU here. This is definitely one for the family album. The focus is almost spot on but to me it feels as though it is a little too shallow and the top of the head is ever so slightly blurry. Great composition though, and looks great in black and white.

Pretty lighthouse posed against lavendar shades of sky and sea. I like the way you framed this photograph with the lighthouse to the right and the bright glow of sunlight balancing the left side. Many interesting things are going on I think. The clouds look like they are painted on in horizontal restful streaks. Then, the lighthouse juts up with strong straight verticle white lines that cut through the clouds. It's an interesting effect. A side note, the lighthouse...
